Three days before her death Gran said to me - “Soon I shall be just a memory”.

This true statement and the encouragement given to me by my daughter Jenny, prompted me to put into writing some of the events and experiences of Gran’ s early life (things that she loved to tell us about time and time again) together with my own personal memories.

I trust that this Memoir - ‘Gran’s Story’ - will be of interest to her Grand-daughters, her Great-grandchildren and also the generations which are yet to be born.
