Marion D. Fahey
July 2, 1924 - June 12, 2013
Surrounded by family and friends, Marion Fahey passed away at home in Myrtle Springs on June 12, 2013 at the age of 88. In her last years, she suffered from vascular dementia which resulted in her death. Marion was born in Brooklyn, NY, lived through the Depression, and worked in a war factory during WWII. She and her husband moved to Texas in the early 50s with their four children, Paulette, Mark, Sandra, and Paul Scott. Marion was widowed at an early age and never remarried. Being the head of a household, she began a career in the stock brokerage business with E.F. Hutton in Dallas, and retired from Smith Barney in 1992. Since retirement, Marion lived in Myrtle Springs close to her two daughters. Marion enjoyed a full life that spanned five generations. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Anthony, and two sons, Mark and Scott. Survivors include daughter, Paulette and husband, Buster Leavell of Wills Point, daughter, Sandie and husband, John Kimbrew of Wills Point, four grandchildren - Lisa Miller of Wills Point, Katrina Gailey of Dallas, Jerome Kimbrew of Tool, and Gregg Lewis of Abilene; five great grandchildren - Trent, Tyler, Chaetrian, Tannen, and Jesse; one great, great grandson, Tracen.
Graveside services are to be held at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite, Texas (date pending).
