Peggy Joyceann Jackson

Funeral services for Peggy Joyceann Jackson, 63 of Granbury will be held today, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2003, in Hamilton, Ohio. Burial will be there.
Mrs Jackson, described by her daughter, as a loving friend, mother and grandmother, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at Granbury.
She was born June 26, 1940. She worked for Nurses Unlimited in Fort Worth for several years.
It is suggested memorials be made to Christmas for Children.

Her husband, Cabel Leavell, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her sons, Denny Leavell and Ben Leavell, both of Hamilton, Ohio and Matthew Leavell of Granbury; a daughter, Michelle Leavell of Granbury; sisters, Cleda House and Billie Jean, both of Hamilton, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.
Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury was in charge of local arrangements.

Peggy J. Jackson

Peggy J. Jackson, age 63, a former Hamilton resident, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2003, in Granbury, Texas. She was a volunteer caregiver for the elderly in Texas for many years.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by three sons, Denny (Cindy) Leavell, Ben (Kim) Leavell and Matt Leavell, all of Hamilton; one daughter, Michelle Smith of Texas; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cleda House of Hamilton and Billie Jean Jackson of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mikola Leavell and two grandchildren, Jonathan Samuel Leavell and Destiny Smith.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2003, at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield, with Rev. Josh Willis, officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.

It seems that Finette and Rudolf went on honeymoon the week after the wedding.

They are listed on the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse arriving in New York on June 15th 1904, they departed Southampton, England on June 8th.

The ships manifest lists Rudolf as an engineer and their final destination as the Broadway Central Hotel, later called the Grand Central Hotel which collapsed in 1973.

WEDDING BELLS
...Friends of Miss Rosa Brodnax were greatly surprised to learn of her marriage while on a recent visit to Chicago.
...On the evening of November 23 at the Church Federation Club in Chicago the solemn words were spoken uniting in the holy bonds of wedlock this popular young Mexia lady and Mr. T. R. Leavell of that city.
...The bride was handsomely gowned in Biege Crepe, Romaine hat and gloves of corresponding shade.
...The altar was decorated in cut flowers by a few close friends who were present joining them afterward at a dinner at the Morrison Hotel followed by a dance in the Terrace Garden.

...Mrs. Leavell is the daughter of one of our most esteemed citizens T. W. Brodnax. She has grown to young womanhood in our midst. Her friends are legion.

...Mr. Leavell was formerly a citizen of Mexia was well known and well liked. He has invented and copyrighted the Leavell auditing system for hotels which has already been installed in a score or more leading hostelries in the United States including the Adolphus at Dallas, the Morrison of Chicago, with prospects of its eventual adoption by all large hotels . The News joins hosts of friends in good wishes for this happy couple.
