Ann Bridget Bassingthwaighte July 3, 1936 - June 6, 2009 SALEM - Born in London, England, married her childhood sweetheart, Geoff Bassingthwaighte, on July 6, 1957, emigrated to Canada in 1960 and on to America in 1962, became an American citizen in 1967 in Boston, Massach-usetts along with her husband and two children, Steve and Tania. Moved to Oregon in 1971, settling in the Mt. Angel area. As a young girl, she went to an all girls academy at Heathfield School near Ascot, with Princess Alexandra, the Queen's cousin. She went on to attend London College of Economics. She is survived by her husband, Geoff Bassingthwaighte, of 51 years; two children, Steve Bassingthwaighte and Tania Bochsler; son-in-law, Gordon Bochsler; and three grandchildren, Oliver Bochsler, Abigail Bochsler and Vincent Bochsler all of Mt. Angel, Oregon; and sister, Jean Walton of Crawley, England. She loved to garden, quilt, read and spend time with her family. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 12 at the Oregon Garden in Silverton. If you wish donations can be made to the Willamette Humane Society.

Bernard Geoffrey COUSENS
COUSENS, Bernard Geoffrey - Bernard passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at the age 84. Beloved husband to Pamela (nee MacKinnon) of 65 years. Loving father to Karen Sherwood, Susan (Tom) Stanford and Robert (Leah) Cousens of Alexandria, Virginia U.S.A. Cherished grandfather to Tammy Halladay, Toby (Julie) Stanford of Barrie, Ont., Stacey Stanford (Dave Dewey) of Picton and Lauren Cousens. Great-Grandfather to Samantha McParland, Allie McParland, April McParland, Ethan Dewey, Jacob Dewey, Theoron Stanford and Evynn Stanford. He will be dearly missed by his sister Alana Cousins of London, Ontario, and sister-in- law Beatrice Walroth. Bernard is predeceased by grandson Troy Halladay. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Connell 3 Rosewood Retirement Home for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOMES - 435 Davis Drive (Taylor Kidd Blvd. & Centennial Drive) on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Final place of rest Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Westport.
