The marriage certificate of Mary and James lists Mary's father as George a / Farmer, but does not list that he is deceased. We have [at September 2006] no record of his death his wife Elizabeth was listed as a widow in the 1851 census. All other Mary A Taylors between 1851 and 1861 did not tally with the birth of this Mary A Taylor. James Royds was listed as a single school teacher in the 1851 census and in 1861 listed in Rusholme, Manchester as a teacher of English with Mary A Royds, born 1828 in Rochdale.

The children of Jacob and Sarah:

Charles Henry Gunn was born in Lorain county, Ohio, around 1852. He married a woman named Florance Rogers in 1875. In 1880 they were living in Ionia County, probably where they were married. They had at least three
children, Frank, born around 1876, Bessie born around 1878 and Monroe, born in March 1880. More children may have been born after 1880. Charles was living in Florida in 1923.

Benjamin Franklin Gunn was born around 1854 in Lorain County, Ohio.He married 2 May 1878 to Harriet K. Rogers, in Grand Haven. Harriet was born in Dubuque, Iowa. No other information on this family. Benjamin was deceased before brother John in 1923.

William C. Gunn was born around 1856 in Ionia, Michigan. His wife's name was Mary. William died in March of 1901. Mary died in March of 1903. Both lived in Allendale where they are buried at the Allendale Cemetery.

Ellen Gunn was born around 1858 in Ionia, Michigan. She married Moses Balcom who was born 11 November 1858, probably in Ottawa County. They had at least one son, William Jacob Balcom, born in Allendale in 1882. Both were still alive in 1898. Nothing more is known.

Seigel Gunn was born about 1861 in Ionia County, Michigan. He was living in Allendale in 1901 and in Grand Rapids in 1923. Nothing more is known.

Sarah Ann Gunn was born in Ionia County in March of 1870. Nothing more is known.

Daniel K. Gunn was born in Michigan in June 1873. He married Bella See on 7 Feb. 1893 in Allendale. Bella was 17 years old, her mothers name was Emma Jenkins. They had at least one son, Howard S. Gunn, born in Allendale in Sept. 1893. They lived in Allendale in 1901 and in Grand Rapids in 1923.

Ellis Belle Gunn was born 14 October 1874 in Ottawa County, Michigan.Nothing more is known.

John S. Gunn was born 3 April 1877 in Allendale. For more on his life see special section, John S. Gunn and Allie Elizabeth Scott, Numbers 12 &13. In John's obit, it says he had two sisters still alive. Mrs. Luther Taylor of Ewen and Mrs. George Owen of Chicago. This means his other sister had passed away by this time but it does not say who the sisters were that were still living. Also there may have been another sister. It is unknown if there was another sister named Mary or if this is the same person as Sarah Ann.
