There is a family tree on Ancestry with John's parents listed as John Hearn (1771 - May 2 1840) and Mary Durrant (1775-1858). Though we can prove there was a John Hearn who died in May 1840 there is no other documented proof available at this time.

Mary Durrant has parents listed as Joseph Durrant and Mary Pearce - no dates.

There are not very many records about Margaret Newman. The only church record is that of her confirmation by Rev. Alexander Gregg, D.D, Bishop of Texas at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston. Her name is listed among the dead from the Galveston Hurricane/Tidal Wave on Wednesday, 8 September, 1900. ("Complete Story of the Galveston Horror", by John Coulter, 1900, pg 366-367). She was probably buried in the mass funerals or burned on the mass funeral pyres.

The only church record for her at Trinity Episcopal Church is that of her death. She is listed in Book 3, page 329 as having died 15 Sept 1897, buried in the Episcopal Cemetery by Rev. W.K. Lloyd. She is also listed in Book 4, page 267, as having died 15 Sept 1896. I could find no tombstone for her in the cemetery and no notice of her death in either year in the microfilm copies of the Galveston Daily News.
